Composition equipment and role of electrophoretic coating line

Electrophoretic coating is a common coating process, which is widely used in various industries, such as automobile manufacturing, furniture manufacturing, metal products, etc. 

The electrophoretic coating line is the key equipment to realize the electrophoretic coating process, and it consists of several components and equipment, each of which has a specific function and role. 

This article will introduce the component equipment of the electrophoresis coating line and their roles in the electrophoresis coating process.

I. Pre-treatment equipment


1. Cleaning device:

The cleaning device is used to remove grease, dirt and impurities from the surface of the workpiece to ensure the cleanliness of the surface of the workpiece. It usually includes spray cleaning, soaking cleaning and high pressure spraying to ensure the surface finish and adhesion of the workpiece.


2. Pretreatment equipment:

Pretreatment equipment is used to treat the surface of the workpiece to increase the adhesion and corrosion resistance between it and the coating agent. Common pretreatment methods include phosphating, pickling, alkaline washing, etc. Choose the appropriate pretreatment method according to different workpieces and requirements.

II. Electrophoretic coating equipment


1. Electrophoresis tank:

Electrophoresis tank is one of the most important equipment in the electrophoresis coating line, which is used to accommodate electrophoresis paint and soak workpieces. It is usually made of corrosion-resistant materials, such as stainless steel or polypropylene. The paint in the electrophoresis tank forms a uniform and dense coating film on the surface of the workpiece through the action of electrophoretic electric field.


2. Electrophoresis power supply:

The electrophoresis power supply is used to provide stable direct current to maintain the electric field strength and stability of the electrophoresis solution in the electrophoresis tank. It can adjust the voltage and current as needed to ensure the consistency of coating quality.


3. Stirring device:

The stirring device is used to maintain the uniform suspension state of the paint in the electrophoresis tank. It prevents precipitation and delamination of electrophoretic paint by stirring or circulating pump, etc. to ensure uniformity and quality of coating film.


4. Filtration device:

The filtration device is used to remove impurities and particles in the electrophoresis tank to maintain the purity of the electrophoretic paint. Common filtration devices include filters and centrifuges, etc., which effectively prolong the service life of electrophoretic coatings.


5. Electrophoretic paint supply system:

The electrophoretic paint supply system includes equipment such as paint storage tanks, conveying pipes and pumps. They are responsible for transporting electrophoretic paint from storage tank to electrophoretic tank, maintaining certain supply pressure and flow rate to ensure stable supply and uniform coating of paint.

III. Drying equipment


1. Pre-drying oven:

The pre-drying oven is used to dry the paint quickly after coating to remove the moisture and promote the curing of the coating. It usually adopts hot air circulation to evaporate the moisture on the surface of the workpiece quickly through heating and fan.


2. Curing Oven:

The curing oven is used for the final curing and hardening of the coating. According to the characteristics and requirements of the coating, different heating methods can be used, such as infrared heating, ultraviolet curing or hot air circulation heating, to ensure the solidity and durability of the coating.

IV. Auxiliary equipment


1. Conveyor system:

The conveyor system is used to transport the workpiece from one treatment area to another, such as from the cleaning area to the electrophoretic coating area, from the coating area to the drying area, etc. It can use conveyor chain, conveyor belt or hanging conveyor line, etc. to realize automatic workpiece transmission and processing.


2. Control system:

The control system is the core of the electrophoretic coating line, which is used to monitor and control the whole coating process. It includes functions such as temperature control, paint supply control, transmission speed control, and coating time control to ensure the stability and consistency of the coating process.

V. Conclusion
